REGISTER FOR OUR 6-WEEK JOB-SEEKING WORKSHOP
Jewish Care in association with AUJS is excited to announce a 6-week FREE interactive LearnLocal workshop allowing you to critically analyse your understanding and application of the job seeking process.
Come along and join a group of students, just like you, as we navigate the winding road of job seeking, discovering where we are, where we want to go, and what resources we have available to access.
This FREE workshop is framed through a contemporary COVID-19 context with references to self-care and navigating self-employment.
SESSIONS
Week 0 (Intro session): August 12th (Wed) 6-7pm
Come along to a 1 hour taster for our 6 week job-seeking workshop. We’ll start to explore our own employment journeys (the highs and the lows) and share those experiences with others. We’ll also talk about the topics for each week!
Week 1 (SMART career planning): August 26th (Wed) 6-8pm
It’s time to officially say hello to our 6 week workshop! We’re going to brainstorm what issues are important to you and explore some personal SMART goals to discover where your passion is.
Week 2 (Resumes and cover letters): September 2nd (Wed) 6-8pm
It does what it says on the tin. This week we’re going to deconstruct resumes and cover letters. What works, what doesn’t. We may even show you own Jewish Care resume template!
Week 3 (Networking): September 9th (Wed) 6-8pm
One of the most effective ways to job-search is by networking. Who you know. Let’s refine those networking skills by talking it through.
Week 4 (Interviews): September 16th (Wed) 6-8pm
Interviews, everyone got to do them. But some strategies work better than others. Let’s share our expertise and then do some practice interviews to hone in on our skills.
Week 5 (Transitioning into work): September 23rd (Wed) 6-8pm
While we’re transitioning into work it’s vital we practice self-care. New environments can be overwhelming, so let’s explore healthy communication too.
Week 6 (Next steps): September 30th (Wed) 6-8pm
Where to now? There’s one final frontier we haven’t yet explored – starting your own business. We’ll conclude our time together by reflecting on our SMART Goals and noting the resources we can access to help us get there.

You can register for our intro session or any of the 6 weeks by clicking on the link. Once you complete your registration, sit tight and our partners at AUJS will be in touch to confirm your participation. 1 or 2 days before the event we'll send out the Zoom link, and then it's showtime!
At the end of each session we'll conclude with a follow-up item - something to help us further engage with the material and to get us thinking about next week's session. The more you put in the more you get out!
